François Glorieux's Biography
François Glorieux, born in Courtrai, Belgium on August 27 1932, and acclaimed throughout Europe, the USA, Latin America, Canada, Japan, China, the Middle East and Africa is one of the most widely accomplished and versatile musicians traveling the international circuit today: pianist composer conductor, commentator, entertainer, honorary professor of chamber music at the Royal Music Conservatory of Ghent, guest professor at Yale University (USA) and director of the International Piano Master Class in Antwerp.
His particular art was the rare one of improvisation presented in five languages. Glorieux practices all musical styles and has been highly considered by great artists such as André Cluytens, Arthur Rubinstein, Yves Nat, Hiroyuki Iwaki, Enrique Jorda, Raphael Frühbeck de Burgos, but also Michael Jackson, Stan Kenton, Stéphane Grappelli, Paul McCartney, Toots Thielemans, Jacky Collins, Annie Girardot, Dionne Warwick, A.C. Jobim, and so on.
Certain facts of his very busy life claim our special attention: triumphant tours with the late André Cluytens
in Germany and Austria; collaboration with the "Ballet of the XXth Century", the "Royal Ballet of Flanders", the
"Nederlands Danstheater" (The Hague), the "Nationaal Ballet" (Amsterdam) with the choreographers Béjart, Leclair,
Panov, Koning, Corelli, Loza.
He also conducted the famous "Stan Kenton Band" in the States, the "Locke Brass
Consort of London", the "National Symphony Orchestra" (UK), the BBC Radio Orchestra, the "New Tokyo Symphony",
the"Kiev Chamber Orchestra" (Ukraine), the "Mainzer Kammerorchester" (Germany), "Czech Radio Symphonic Orchestra" (Prague), "Czech Republic Army Brass Band","Latvian Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra" (Riga), "VRO" and "Radio Brass" (Brussels), "Royal Symphonic Band of the Belgian Guides" and performed as soloist with "
Rias Berlin", "Münchner Rundfunkorchester", "Hamburger Symphoniker", "Orchestre Colonne" (Paris), "Orchestre de
la Suisse Romande" (Geneva), etc... François Glorieux is the founder of four particular ensembles:
"Instrumentarium", "Panoramic Trio", "Brass and Percussion Orchestra" and the "Revivat Scaldis Chamber
Orchestra".
François Glorieux is particularly active as a composer: more than 300 works in all domain of music. Some of his main compositions are:

Honored with several decorations and international awards, Glorieux was during nine weeks number one on the "Classical Hit Parade" in Japan and received 2 golden records. His discography is remarkable: more than 40 Cd's and Lp's.
