Web Accessibility Policy
«The power of the Web is in its universality. Access by everyone regardless of disability is an
essential aspect.»
-- Tim Berners-Lee, W3C Director and inventor of the World Wide Web
Everybody should be able to access the web, regardless of where they are, what kind of appliance or browser they are using or disability. The web belongs to everyone and should be usable by everyone.
In order to accomplish this, the WAI, a working group of the W3C has written a number of guidelines that help web designers and programmers to create accessible websites. They have classified their guidelines in three groups, according to their importance from A to AAA. Our website tries to follow all the A and AA (double A) guidelines. That is why we carry the WAI-AA icon on all our pages.
You can read more about Web Accessibility and the Web Accessibility Initiative on the WAI homepage.
Naturally web accessibility is still very young and it is an ongoing effort. If you find any problems or you have a suggestion to improve our accessibility, please visit our suggestions page.
Of course it is no use trying to create accessible pages when they are not compliant with current web standards. That is why we also have a Web Standards Compliancy Policy.
